(四)花鬘莊嚴事（巴 Mālā-alajkāra），原文已散佚，僅存緬甸譯本，英譯本由比根第（P. Bigandet）譯出，名為 The Life of Legend of Gaudama, the Buddha of the Burmese。
(一)佛陀傳論（Essai sur la légendedu Buddha），法國學者斯納爾（Émile Senart, 1847～1928）著，書中主張歷來各種有關佛陀之故事，既含有傳說之成分，亦有真實之成分。
(二)佛陀，其生平、教義，及僧團（Buddha, Sein Leben, seine Lehre, seine Gemeinde，英譯名為 Buddha; His Life, His Doctrine, His Order），德國學者奧登柏格（Hermann Oldenberg, 1854～1920）著，關於佛陀之傳說部分多未採用。
(三)佛傳（La vie du Bouddha，英譯名為 Life of the Buddha），法國學者弗修爾（Alfred Foucher, 1865～1952）著，謂斯那爾所述之佛陀欠缺生平具體事跡，奧登柏格所述之佛陀則過分寫實而欠缺神性。

(七)Recherches sur la biographiedu Buddha dans les Sutrapitaka et les Vinayapitaka anciens，法國學者巴洛（An dré Bareau）著，將上座部、化地部、法藏部等之中有關佛陀生平之經、律藏資料及相關典籍，異同並比而撰成。
(八)Histoire du bouddhisme indien, I, Louvain, 1958，拉馬特（Étienne Lamotte）著，將佛陀傳說之發展過程分為五項相連之階段。
