2016年5月14日，农历四月初八，是佛教界一年一度庆祝释迦牟尼佛圣诞的吉祥日子，也称为浴佛节。千年古刹药师佛道场———石室禅院隆重举行“两岸和合·国泰民安浴佛吉祥法会”
上午9时30分，僧俗大众云集在弘法讲堂，大家庄严静立，双手合十，虔诚的恭迎释迦太子圣像。一时，寺内钟鼓齐鸣，声震四方，本寺住持忠明法师手托太子圣像在香花灯仪仗队的迎请下，缓步进入弘法讲堂将圣像安奉在九龙浴佛盆内。
法会开始前，忠明法师并为大众开示浴佛的起源、意义及功德。忠明法师说：“在这吉祥殊胜的日子里，我们要学习与秉持佛陀遗教，传播佛教正能量，让更多的人接触佛教、认识佛教、理解佛教，更好的弘扬与践行“人间佛教”思想，让美丽厦门更美丽，为共圆中国梦做出宗教界的贡献。
随后，在“那摩本师释迦牟尼佛”的唱诵声中，忠明法师携僧俗大众同礼如来，同赞佛德，依次在浴佛坛城前跪拜问讯，以殊胜香汤灌沐太子清净之身以为供养。当天千余名信众和游客参加，虔诚浴佛祈福，感悟佛陀的慈悲、智慧和欢喜。仗此功德，祈愿世界祥和、两岸和合、国泰民安，众得身心自在！
中午13时举行的“皈依三宝仪式”上，忠明法师领众齐唱赞佛偈，与新佛子们共同缅怀伟大的三界导师释迦牟尼佛。在这殊胜吉祥的日子得以皈依无上尊贵的佛法僧三宝，就此得以弃暗投明，犹如千年暗室得遇灵光照彻，身心灵融入诸佛愿海，悟获生命的真谛。
浴佛 - 洗五浊具足智慧福德
浴佛偈云：「我今灌沐诸如来，净智庄严功德海，五浊众生离尘垢，同证如来净法身。」意即在浴佛时要以清净香水来灌沐佛身，虽然浴佛水不多，但是要观想这是非常清净的智慧水，能灌沐庄严佛身所汇聚如海之功德；同时愿能洗除五浊恶世众生烦恼尘垢，与佛陀一样证得清净无染的法身。
浴佛时内心也要虔诚期待五浊恶世里的凡夫能以佛法洗除众生的无明烦恼，使众生生长智慧。五浊即劫浊、见浊、命浊、众生浊、烦恼浊。浊，就是污染的烦恼。意即期待五浊恶世的众生能脱离烦恼。灌沐佛身，其实是在净化自己的身，愿人身也能清净如如来的身。如来的身就是法身、清净身。众生与佛同等本来就有佛性，只要把五浊不干净的烦恼洗除了，自然与佛同等证到清净无染的法身。
浴佛象征着我们洗去内心的污垢，使我们的心灵得到净化，显现每个人本来具有的佛性，典礼的仪式是为提醒我们纪念佛性的伟大，用仪式激发我们对佛法的敬仰、修学的热忱，时刻保持身心清净，以此启发内心的慈悲智能，承续佛法慧命，让佛陀的慈光永照人间，这就是浴佛的真义，这才是佛陀化世的本怀。
