法会恭请本寺住持忠明法师为主法大和尚；忠明法师领众念诵药师经一部、礼赞药师如来、持诵药师灌顶真言、药师佛普供等祈福仪式，并到消灾坛、超度坛、十方孤魂坛、婴灵坛普供回向。整场活动在庄严而欢喜中进行。同时在本寺参加 “四十九昼夜精进祈愿药师佛念佛祈福消灾法会”的众佛子善信们一并在药师密坛内将当日功德回向共贺。
10时30分，忠明法师领众在大殿前举行放生仪式。《大方广佛华严经》中所言：“众生至爱者身命，诸佛至爱者众生，能救众生身命，则能成就诸佛心愿。”佛教提倡不杀生，不杀生是一种慈悲，不杀生而护生，进而倡导生权平等，这是最合乎现代举世所关心的生态保育，也是最积极的重视环保。
时值药师佛圣诞，本寺一百多年的两棵金桂花开漂香供养药师佛。
午时13时整，在大雄宝殿内举行了皈依仪式，住持忠明法师亲自为虔心学佛的在家善信讲解及传授三皈的意义，希望大众在家庭工作当中学菩萨利益大众的精神，将此精神落实到生活中，为构建美丽厦门做出佛子应有的力量！
